Amazon FBA profit calculator: what to include
A useful FBA profit estimate should account for more than the product purchase price. Enter your selling price, product cost, referral fee, FBA fulfillment fee, inbound shipping, storage or other per-unit costs, advertising spend, and a returns reserve.
Use the result to compare product assumptions before committing to inventory. For a deeper explanation of profit, margin, and ROI, read the Amazon FBA profit margin guide.
How the FBA profit calculation works
Revenue is your selling price. Percentage-based costs include the referral fee, advertising, and returns reserve. Fixed per-unit costs include product cost, FBA fulfillment, inbound shipping, and storage or other costs. Net profit is revenue minus those costs.
Profit margin is net profit divided by selling price. ROI here is net profit divided by product cost. The break-even selling price estimates the price at which profit reaches zero while keeping your percentage-based costs unchanged.
Why the estimate can differ from your Amazon results
Amazon fees and seller economics vary by marketplace, category, product size, fulfillment details, storage period, returns, promotions, and other factors. Use current Amazon fee information and your own account data to validate important purchasing decisions.
